SO HERE WE ARE, FINALLY, PRESENTING YOU WITH THE BEST ALBUM WE WILL PROBABLY EVER MAKE.

The liner notes of "A Worthy Compensation", Beborn Beton's first album since 1999, speak volumes. Such self-confidence is not common for a band that has been silent for so long, yet insinuates that they have by no means been idle in the meantime.
When Beborn Beton's contract with their old label Strangeways was fulfilled at the turn of the millennium, the trio could realign freely. At that point the Essen-based group of Stefan Netschio (vocals), Michael Wagner (electronics) and Stefan Tillmann (programming, electronics) had established themselves as a successful act between electronic Pop and EBM, touring both in Europe as well as North America with hits such as ‚Another World', ‚Lost', ‚Little Robot' or ‚Torture'.
During the following break, they made a plan: to create an album without compromises in terms of composition and production. When this vision became reality, Beborn Beton showed a degree of consistency that, in hindsight, deserves respect. It took them more than seven years to work on new songs without cutting back on quality, carefully searching for an apt engineer and studio producer. Eventually and with the help of Olaf Wollschläger (u.a. MESH, Yello, In Strict Confidence, Seabound), they made an effort that displays maturity in all aspects and achieves the goal they had set for themselves.

"A Worthy Compensation" is a masterpiece of electronic pop - deep, timeless and melancholic with some well-dosed pathos. Songs and lyrics get under the skin in the long run, not least thanks to Olaf Wollschläger, who emphasises their strengths in an exceptional manner.
As for the album's lyrical content, the band says the following:
The carousel of life. The highs, the lows. The happy moments. The hardships:
"A WORTHY COMPENSATION… WHAT IS THAT? IT CAN MEAN DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. BASICALLY, IT IS A REWARD FOR A TASK, A BURDEN OR A PAINFUL TIME YOU HAD TO GO THROUGH. SOMETHING THAT MAKES UP FOR AN EFFORT YOU MADE. SOMETHING YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN TIMES ARE NOT SO BRIGHT.

The album is immediately accessible but reveals its entire potential only after repeated listenings. Also, the band harks back to its stylistic past despite the long pause. Due to Stefan Netschio's trademark voice and Stefan Tillmann's nifty songwriting, each track conveys a unique atmosphere without sounding rushed or forced - a rare thing for music from this genre. In this way, Beborn Beton naturally bridge the gap between the 1980s and current productions.
This is the stuff masterpieces are made of.

Before DERO GOI, who was born as Stephan Musiol on April 16, 1970 in the German city of Wolfsburg, founded OOMPH! in 1989, he already played in a band with his friend Thomas Döppner aka OOMH! guitarist and co-founder Crap at the age of 15 while both were still attending high school. His musical influences display an open mind to stylistic diversity as DERO GOI names among others D.A.F., NITZER EBB, FRONT 242, THE CURE, FAITH NO MORE, KILLING JOKE, EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN, AC/DC, DEPECHE MODE, EXTRABREIT, KRAFTWERK, THE BEATLES, ELVIS PRESLEY, and ABBA. The trio set out with the declared aim to keep synth pop relevant and give it meaning. Following their first two regular albums "Tybalt" (1993) and "Concrete Ground" (1994), BEBORN BETON joined renowned acts such as WOLFSHEIM and DE/VISION in a new label home. Among the artists that gladly followed Elena's call are KIRLIAN CAMERA mastermind ANGELO BERGAMINI, PROJECT PITCHFORK, SEASURFER, legendary producer JOHN FRYER, who worked with DEPECHE MODE and NINE INCH NAILS alongside many others, JOHN ROX & OXYDION, African singer-songwriter FAKEBA, and guitarist and producer MICHAEL CIRAVOLO (BEAUTY IN CHAOS, HUMAN DRAMA).
"Modernism" in a way is a musical child that was born out of the isolation that was imposed on Northern Italy during the pandemic. Elena trapped into the SPECTRA*Paris songs all the notes that absorb her fears, her astonishment, and her sense of confusion into what she calls "a weird concoction of melancholy and rhythm". Her music is complemented and underlined by the beautiful artwork that accompanies this album.
SPECTRA*Paris was conceived as an electronic rock oriented project in the wake Elena's previous project SIDERARTICA. In 2007 she self-released the ultra-rare promo 3" CD-R limited to 25 copies "Spectra Murder Show" and immediately got picked-up by a label, which led to the acclaimed first album "Dead Models Society (Young Ladies Homicide Club)" hitting the streets in the same year. The debut reached the charts in many countries and went up to gold. Elena followed-up with two successful albums in 2010, "License to Kill" and "Christmas Ghouls". Tracks from these recordings as well as the latest album "Retromachine Betty" (2017) have been used in tv and catwalk soundtracks.
With "Modernism", SPECTRA*Paris chronicle Elena Alice Fossi's prison-break into the freedom that only true art can grant. Aided by her accomplice and long-time friend Angelo Bergamini, who co-produced and supervised every sound in this chapter, the composer and singer has delivered a fascinating personal statement via a wide range of electronic music.

BLACK NAIL CABARET have set a musical exclamation mark with their current album "Gods Verging on Sanity" (2020). Despite their planned touring fell victim to the general circumstances, the duo has emerged even stronger from the last two years mainly through rapidly spreading word of mouth.

Their continued growth provides an excellent opportunity to let an early jewel from the band's back catalogue history shine in new splendour: When singer Emèse Árvai-Illes and Krisztián Árvai on keyboards self-released the album "Pseudopop" on their own Dichronaut Records label in 2018, the duo had already successfully fused art, pop, dark harmonies and exciting electronics. Hungarian journalist Mariusz Bari (Planet Damage) awarded the highest score (10)/10 and wrote: "BLACK NAIL CABARET has always been on a journey to perfect itself and this latest album is the perfect proof that they have not lost neither touch, nor control."

What sets BLACK NAIL CABARET remarkably apart from other bands of their genre is a penchant for sexually explicit provocation. The Hungarians not only managed to stay far away from being embarrassing or aiming for cheap thrills, but artistically depict their living BDSM reality framed by high aesthetic standards. Those who prefer to see a frog in the Rohrschach blobs on the album cover should perhaps dare to take a closer look.

In the duo's own words, it sounds like this: "'Pseudopop' is a summary of all the music that had a huge impact on our lives", wrote BLACK NAIL CABARET. "Regardless of style, we just emptied our minds, dropped genres, and let loose. It is a nice hybrid born out of the chaos within both of us and we like to think that our music is avant-garde contemporary pop with dark alternative roots."

On its initial release, "Pseudopop" came with nearly all the ingredients needed for greatness. The only item missing was a label with international outreach. Now the album will finally received the well deserved worldwide attention through a careful re-mastered reissue including a bonus track released by Dependent. It is rare that it takes as long for a band from being discovered to getting signed as in the case of CLICKS. However, the Polish trio has been working on its debut album "GLITCH MACHINE" for almost three years after gracing the underground with several nifty compilation tracks and remixes. "GLITCH MACHINE" was well worth the wait, though, since the three musicians, Controlled-Collapse-mastermind Kr-lik amongst them, have created an original piece full of modern vibes and minimalist nonchalance. The album is a hybrid of traditional EBM, Electroclash with reserved Vocoder vocals and a pinch of timeless club feeling. Nitzer Ebb, Daft Punk and Anthony Rother may serve to describe the stylistic path that CLICKS explore.

Three bored Poles are responsible for this electronic neck rub, all of them entertaining their individual side projects but agreeing to follow this specific direction with CLICKS: Kr-Lik (vocals, synth, programming), Tomek (synth) and Lukasz (drums).
The title "GLITCH MACHINE" is reflected within the music on the album, balancing perfection, improvisation and digital recklessness. CLICKS are indeed the ambitious, slightly tongue-in-cheek glitch within the concept of Dark Electronics, the cool systemic error. With glitches like them, the whole does not only get more exciting, but tolerable in the first place. As for that, we can say thank you to CLICKS.
