With "Ghosts of Europa", the enigmatic Norwegian artistic entity known as MORTIIS presents an album that he views as a creative liberation. "Ghosts of Europa" is the sonic testimony of an experienced and matured musician, who created what he loves most and does best: electronic rock with stylistic influences from many genres while not being bound by any that creates dark soundscapes, cinematic sonic visions, and a plethora of emotions. With their seventh full-length "Nocturne", HEXVESSEL explore the liminal spaces between light and darkness, nature and solitude on an epic album. The ever evolving and shifting Finnish band has reawakened their treasured roots in folk music and psychedelic rock as they artfully weave acoustic interludes, cosmic synths, and spectral piano into the frost-spun threads on their black metal loom. "Nocturne" sounds both familiar and fearlessly progressive as echoes of tradition entwine with a fresh reinvention of their characteristic sound. The seed of this masterpiece was sown by the performance of a commissioned work at Roadburn Festival 2024 that was originally entitled: "Music for Gloaming: A Nocturne". With this album, it arrives fully fleshed in recorded form. This opus magnum blends the raw spirit of Quorthon's black metal with the intricate minimalism of contemporary composers such as Philip Glass, György Ligeti, and Avro Pärt. Its eclectic nature is elevated and underlined by select guest performances, including the vocals of Saara Nevalainen, as well as the avant-garde black metal luminaries Yusaf Vicotnik Parvez (DHG/DØDHEIMSGARD), and ORANSSI PAZUZU's Juho Vanhanen. While HEXVESSEL are based in Tampere, Finland, they were founded by English singer & songwriter Kvohst aka Mat McNerney after he moved to the country in 2009. In many ways, HEXVESSEL reflect their founder. The vocalist and songwriter has instigated and been involved in various bands ranging from UK black metal act CODE, a stint in Norwegian legends DØDHEIMSGARD, and to rock shooting stars BEASTMILK – later 'continued' with GRAVE PLEASURES to name but a few of his success stories. Iconic French avant-garde rockers MAGMA have joined forces with Prophecy Productions to create a lavish boxed set to celebrate the 50th anniversary entitled "Une histoire de Mekanïk – 50 Years of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh" of their legendary milestone release and third studio album "Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh" (1973). Apart from a number of special collectors’ items, this box set limited to 2,000 copies contains seven vinyl LPs ranging from the original album to live recordings and other rare materials related to "Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh" of which several were previously unreleased and/or appear on vinyl for the first time. For connoisseurs of avant-garde rock, MAGMA require no introduction. The visionary French band that were founded in Paris by self-educated drummer and percussionist Christian Vander are towering giants within and beyond their genre. Vander has created his own lyrical cosmos for MAGMA, in which humanity has destroyed earth and fled to a planet called Kobaïa that has remained at the centre of his musical works. With his disturbing vision of humanity's ecological and spiritual development, Vander was far ahead of his times and quite prophetic. Most MAGMA lyrics are sung in the fictional language Kobaïan, which was invented by Vander, which mainly used phonetic traits of Germanic and Slavonic languages to enhance the musical expression of the band. With "Une histoire de Mekanïk – 50 Years of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh", MAGMA celebrate their classic album's 50th anniversary by giving themselves and their dedicated following a beautiful present in the shape of a limited box set that follows the massive trail of their iconic third full-length from the original through decades of various incarnations. LP 1 "1972 – Paris ORTF"
This is definitely one of the first recorded live versions of "MDK"; and it might even be the first – if anybody could exactly remember this after 50 years. The masterpiece was still work in progress at that time.

LP 2 "1973 – Choeurs de la Storchhaus"
This studio recording can be regarded as a demo and it features the choir that played "MDK" live at the SIGMA festival in November 1972. It was first released on CD in 1989 and appears now for the first time on vinyl.

LP 3 "Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh" (original version)
Despite of more than 30 published studio and live recordings, many consider this album to represent MAGMA's ultimate masterwork. At the time, Christian Vander had taken the artistic destiny of the French band fully into his hands. The most striking development was the massive impact of the vocalists and choir. This classic was carefully remastered for this edition.

LP 4 (Side 1) "1994 – Les voix de Magma"
This previously unreleased track was recorded live with the addition of a 60 piece choir.

LP 4 (Side 2) "1995 – Babyaga la sorcière"
This surprising adaptation of "MDK" was recorded at the Espace Lumière in Epinay-sur-Seine, France on October 15, 1995 during the second concert celebrating Magma's 25th birthday. It features an impressive choir of children and an instrumental ensemble of teenagers and was released on CD in 1996 but never before on vinyl.

LP 5 "2000 – Paris Trianon Theater"
This version was recorded in Paris at the Theatre du Trianon during MAGMA's 30th anniversary celebration and was previously only released on CD as part of a box set in 2001.

LP 6 "2005 – Paris Le Triton"
During May 2005, MAGMA booked the club Le Triton in Paris, changed their programme each week, and brought back illustrious past members back to the stage to perform with them. On this recording from May 21, Christian Vander was reunited with legendary bass player Jannick Top. Previously only appearing on DVD, this is the first audio only release of this remarkable event.

TENHI have listened to their many adherents that have long been clamouring for a new collection. The Finnish dark folk progenies make all their recordings from 1997 to 2023 available on 14 vinyl LPs in a limited hardcover slipcase box under the title "Collected Works 2023". The material includes the latest full-length "Valkama" and most of the albums have been remastered. The box exists in two versions, one in black (ltd. 300) and the other in clear transparent (ltd. 200) vinyl. Both editions include 5 double-sided 30x30cm art-prints. TENHI could hardly have picked a more suitable band-name. This old Finnish word means a person that is an 'elder' or 'shaman'. And while the shamans of the ancient nomadic Finns are the guardians against but also the mediators between their communities and the spirit world, TENHI are their musical equivalent as a liminal force between dark folk, folk rock, and even reaching out into the normally electrified world of metal. The latter invites comparison with WARDRUNA and HEILUNG, although in a spiritual meaning and certainly not by way of a stylistic comparison. TENHI were conceived by guitarist and vocalist Tyko Saarikko in 1996. Ilmari Issakainen joined the band a few years later. Together they form the creative core of the group. After self-releasing the demo "Kertomuksia" (1997) and the MCD "Hallavedet" (1998), the Finns immediately hit a nerve with their debut full-length "Kauan" in 1999. TENHI started into the new millennium with another MCD entitled "Airut:ciwi" (2000), which was followed by a string of albums from "Väre" (2002) via "Maaäet" (2006), "Airut:aamujen" (2006), and "Saivo" (2011) to "Valkama" (2023). With each new release, the Finns continued to grow a dedicated following that is coming from different musical directions. From the start, TENHI have combined acoustic instrumentation and a traditional vibe with structures based on contemporary rock music. While their previous full-length "Saivo" tilted more towards an ambient-style and panoramic soundtrack feeling, "Valkama" returned to a more song-oriented approach – even though the tracks retain an epic and meandering format. DEINE LAKAIEN are a German cultural icon. With their 10th studio full-length, "Dual", classically-educated composer and pianist Ernst Horn and vocalist extraordinaire Alexander Veljanov present a conceptual double album, which connects both full-lengths by a double reference.
Half of the double album consists of 10 new songs that DEINE LAKAIEN have crafted with particular artists or songs in mind that have been important for the duo's musical evolution. These sources of inspiration are made clear on the second album of "Dual", which features 10 amazing cover tracks that range from Cat Stevens' classic 'Lady D’Arbanville' via Jacques Brels melancholic 'La chanson des vieux amants' to Kate Bush's 'Suspended in Gaffa' and the surprising choice of the Linkin Park song 'My December'. Each of these renditions has been lovingly translated into the Germans' unmistakable soundscape. In this artistic juxtaposition of a cover version and related new song, the Patti Smith/Bruce Springsteen collaboration 'Because the Night' corresponds with the Horn/Veljanov composition 'Because of Because'. DEINE LAKAIEN lay bare some of the sources of their inspiration and artists that have touched, inspired, thrilled, and shaped them in a most respectful way.
DEINE LAKAIEN are once again breaking new ground, which they have achieved multiple times in their now 35-year history. Founded in 1985, the duo started as a purely electronic avant-garde dark wave project. Taking their name from a reference in the song 'Die genaue Zeit' by German experimentalists Einstürzende Neubauten, the band self-released "Deine Lakaien" in 1986, which spread by word of mouth and created an underground buzz. The debut set the duo clearly apart from electronic contemporaries such as YAZOO, SOFT CELL, EURYTHMICS, and OMD by virtue of their singular dark sound. The albums "Dark Star" (1991) and "Forest Enter Exit" (1993) considerably widened the Germans' audience and gained the attention of influential critics. The infamous Icelandic low is defined as a large and persistent atmospheric low-pressure centre that forms between Iceland and Greenland and is often the cause of strong winter winds over the North Atlantic. KATLA artistically translate this meteorological depression into dark doom-infused metal and deep musical emotion. An urgent sense of darkness and inner turmoil drives "Allt þetta helvítis myrkur" ("All this damn darkness"), the second full-length of the Icelandic duo. The soul crushing heaviness fueling this record makes KATLA's melancholic debut album "Mó∂urástin" appear nearly light-hearted by comparison. Some of this album's core composition reach back in time for more than a decade and were born out of spontaneous rehearsal room-sessions that were only now given final shape. The result is a cinematic musical stream of consciousness, in which many of the songs intertwine and flow into each other.

KATLA are the conceptual and musical brainchild of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Einar Thorberg Gu∂mundsson (FORTÍÐ, POTENTIAM) and former SÓLSTAFIR-drummer and visual artist Gu∂mundur Óli Pálmason. The duo deliberately took their name from one of the most active and feared Icelandic volcanoes to manifest that the external part of their inspiration relates to the islands ever-changing landscapes and subpolar climate. "The outer landscapes are as important to us as the inner darkness", tells Einar. "KATLA is as much a product of our environment as derived from our state of mind."

KATLA take their art very personally even beyond musical aspects. Cover art, photography, and the handwritten booklet – everything about "Allt þetta helvítis myrkur" has either been created by the duo or by their relatives and close friends. "We like to keep things in the family", Gu∂mundur points out. "Everything is homemade yet up to our high standards." This DIY-approach also applies to production as Einar was responsible for all recordings, mix, master, and cello-samples. The result proves the Icelanders right: "Allt þetta helvítis myrkur" is an emotional tour de force – cinematic, dark, heavily emotional, and utterly mesmerizing.

It is rare that it takes as long for a band from being discovered to getting signed as in the case of CLICKS. However, the Polish trio has been working on its debut album "GLITCH MACHINE" for almost three years after gracing the underground with several nifty compilation tracks and remixes. "GLITCH MACHINE" was well worth the wait, though, since the three musicians, Controlled-Collapse-mastermind Kr-lik amongst them, have created an original piece full of modern vibes and minimalist nonchalance. The album is a hybrid of traditional EBM, Electroclash with reserved Vocoder vocals and a pinch of timeless club feeling. Nitzer Ebb, Daft Punk and Anthony Rother may serve to describe the stylistic path that CLICKS explore.

Three bored Poles are responsible for this electronic neck rub, all of them entertaining their individual side projects but agreeing to follow this specific direction with CLICKS: Kr-Lik (vocals, synth, programming), Tomek (synth) and Lukasz (drums).
The title "GLITCH MACHINE" is reflected within the music on the album, balancing perfection, improvisation and digital recklessness. CLICKS are indeed the ambitious, slightly tongue-in-cheek glitch within the concept of Dark Electronics, the cool systemic error. With glitches like them, the whole does not only get more exciting, but tolerable in the first place. As for that, we can say thank you to CLICKS.

It was a memorable event when MESH received standing ovations from 1.900 attendees at their sold-out concert in Gewandhaus Leipzig, Germany, in October 2015. Together with a 65-person classical orchestra, the Brits had performed under the heading "Gothic Meets Classic" and managed to convince even the most sceptical of minds. Not only were the quartet's melancholic compositions a perfect fit for the orchestral arrangements; thanks to the fantastic work of classical producer and pianist Conrad Oleak, the evening remained unforgettable amongst those in the audience. Also, Mark Hockings proved once again that he is one of the best live vocalists the scene has.

The five tracks were recorded in superb audio quality by sound engineer Jacky Lehmann (Saxon, Schiller) whereas Conrad Oleak was responsible for mix and mastering, not to forget the 5.1 surround sound of the audio DVD of the limited edition. Under his aegis, MESH also recorded three additional tracks in his studio ('There Must be A Way', 'Can You Mend Hearts', 'Before The World Ends'), using a smaller ensemble with piano, thus being able to offer us a full CD of high quality classical recordings.
